This Privacy Policy also explains why we collect your data, what we do with it, and certain of your rights under applicable law. mRelief recognizes that you care about how your information is used, and your privacy is important to us.

What Information Does mRelief Collect About You?

mRelief collects information about you when you interact with our sites. We provide you with information to determine your eligibility for social services and public aid, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), among others.

In order to provide you this service, we may collect information you provide to us including, but not limited to:

  • Name
  • Physical address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Birth date
  • Address
  • Gender
  • Social Security Number
  • Location
  • Finances
  • Public Aid History
  • Immigration status
  • Criminal history
  • Household composition and status
  • Other information related to eligibility for SNAP such as income, household size, household composition characteristics, such as whether someone is receiving disability benefits, a senior, a student, SSI information, immigration status and other categories.
  • Information about the device you use to interact with our services, including web browser type and version, and browsing information collected through cookies and beacons, such as your IP address.
  • Information about how you use our services, such as what you have searched for and viewed.
  • Information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services.
  • Information posted in a public space on our social media pages.

How Does mRelief Collect Your Information?

We collect your information in different ways. Below are some examples of how we may collect your information.

  • Directly From You. For example, when you apply for a job, submit an inquiry, make a donation, or complete a screener.
  • Passively. For example, when you visit and navigate our sites on any device. We may also collect information about users over time and across different websites and devices when you use our sites.
  • From Third Parties. We may receive information about you from other sources. For example, this may include receiving information from our business partners, including analytics vendors.
  • By Combining Information. For example, we may combine information we collect about you from the different devices you use to access our sites.

How Does mRelief Protect Children’s Privacy?

mRelief sites are meant for adults. mRelief does not knowingly collect personally identifiable data from persons under the age of 13, and if we obtain actual knowledge that any information we collect has been provided by a child under the age of 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@mrelief.com. How Does mRelief Use The Information Collected About You?

mRelief may use the information it collects about you, including social security number, employment status, address, information related to public aid history and eligibility, and other information, for a number of purposes, including:

  • To help you understand your eligibility for social services programs or public aid. This includes SNAP, or food stamps, cash assistance, child care and other programs;
  • To refer local social services agencies/businesses/venues near you to you if they can provide further social assistance;
  • To create an account for you at your state’s SNAP application website and to submit an application for you to your state’s SNAP application website;
  • To help your household with your SNAP benefits;
  • To manage mRelief’s everyday needs, such as administration and improvement of its services;
  • To analyze how our services perform and function;
  • To study how consumers use our services and to perform other market research in the hopes of making a better user experience; and
  • To prevent fraud, to enforce our services’ Terms of Use, to comply with all applicable laws and mRelief’s nonprofit reporting obligations, and to enforce mRelief’s agreements.
  • To respond to your requests or questions, including responding to your feedback or providing you with requested information;
  • To communicate with you about your eligibility for social services programs or public aid. We may also contact you about this Privacy Policy or our sites’ terms and conditions;
  • As otherwise permitted or required by law or as we may notify you;
  • As requested or directed by you.

When does mRelief Share Your Information?

We may share your information in the following ways:

  • With Business Partners. mRelief may share your information with third parties for the purpose of matching you with social services agencies, businesses or venues that can provide you with assistance.
  • With Our Service Providers. We also may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services and functions on our behalf, including analytics services, and to support our interactions with you including, for example, providing our services, communicating with you. Similarly, we may provide your information to third parties that may assist you in traveling to social services agencies.
  • To Comply with the Law or To Protect Ourselves. For example, this could include complying with subpoenas, court orders, or similar legal processes. It could also include sharing personal information with law enforcement agencies, regulators, and courts, if requested. We might share personal information when we are investigating a potential fraud.
  • As Requested or Directed By You.
  • For Other Reasons We May Describe to You. mRelief may also share your information with third parties where mRelief determines that doing so is appropriate, including, but not limited to:
    • Enforce mRelief’s Terms of Use;
    • Protect mRelief’s property, services and legal rights;

How Does mRelief Use Cookies?

Interest-based advertising or “online behavioral advertising” includes ads served to you after you leave the mRelief website, encouraging you to return. They also include ads we think are relevant based on your browsing habits or online activities. These ads might be served on websites. They might also be served in emails. We might serve these ads, or third parties may serve ads. They might be about our services or other companies’ services.

By using our sites, you permit mRelief to collect and use your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Email Tools: You can also change your email settings to block the automatic download of images in email messages, as such images may contain technologies that help us understand how you interact with the message.

You may choose to enable these options. However, enabling these options may prevent you from using many of the core features and functions available on our sites. Certain options you select are browser and device specific.

You can opt-out of interest-based advertising. You can submit an opt-out request to the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising program (click here) and/or the National Advertising Initiative (NAI) (click here). These are tools that provide individuals with the ability to opt-out of having their online behavior recorded and used for advertising purposes by participating companies. mRelief Do Not Track Policy

Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. “Do not track” signals transmitted from web browsers do not apply to our sites, and we do not alter any of our data collection and use practices upon receipt of such a signal. California Privacy Rights

Pursuant to California Civil Code Section 1798.83(c)(2), you have the right to ask us once a year whether we share your personal information with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing use. Social Media

We are active on social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (“Social Media”). Anything you post on Social Media is public information and will not be treated confidentially. We may post (or re-post) on our website and our Social Media pages any comments or content that you post on our Social Media pages.

Your use of Social Media is governed by the privacy policies and terms of the third parties that own and operate those websites and not by this Policy. We can’t control any policies or terms of such third-party platforms and as a result, we can’t be responsible for any use of your information or content by a third-party platform, which you use at your own risk. We encourage you to review the policies and terms of those platforms.

Our website may contain links to other third-party sites that are not governed by this Privacy Policy. This includes third-party sites that offer resources and content which you can access through our website. If you click on a link to a third-party site, you will be taken to a site we do not control.
